Centre · 2The shortlist of 25 finalists for the 2026 Golden Boy award was announced on Monday 5 October. Centre · 2Anadolu says Barcelona have the most nominees of any club with three (Cubarsi, Marc Bernal and Espart), while the Evening Standard says Barcelona and Real Madrid together account for six finalists. Centre · 1The Evening Standard notes that Lewis-Skelly could become only the fourth Briton to win, and Estevao the third Brazilian and the first since Alexandre Pato in 2009.

Centre · 1The Standard calls Prestianni's inclusion controversial, as UEFA gave the Argentine a six-match ban for homophobic conduct towards Vinicius Junior in April. Centre · 2The winner will be chosen by a jury of 50 European journalists and announced in November. Paris Saint-Germain's Desire Doue is the 2025 winner.
