The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2The A/P Room, a collectible design gallery based at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, became the first UAE-founded gallery of its kind to exhibit at Design Miami Paris. Centre · 1Gulf News reported that the presentation ran from 20 to 25 October 2026. Mixed · 2It paired mid-century Brazilian works by Joaquim Tenreiro, Abraham Palatnik and Branco e Preto with objects by the Lebanese architect and ceramicist Zein Daouk and Originform, a new body of sculptural work by Los Angeles-based artist Rogan Gregory.

Centre · 1Gulf News also lists Móveis Cantu among the exhibited names, and describes Gregory's Originform as sculptural lighting that draws on biology and anthropology. Right · 1Arab News said Gregory's pieces use natural fibres, bronze and ceramic, and that his chandelier was the centrepiece of the Paris presentation. Mixed · 2Founder Christelle Bassila said Paris lets the gallery bring its curatorial vision into a wider conversation and share Middle Eastern work internationally. She told Arab News the region's designers and galleries deserve a stronger presence on the international stage.

Centre · 1Partner Elie Khouri, an art patron and Chairman of Atelio, called the participation an important step in building a distinctive voice in collectible design. Gulf News says the gallery is part of Atelio, Dubai's destination for design furniture and collectible design. Mixed · 2The gallery is due to take part in NOMAD Abu Dhabi in November 2026, its second participation, with works by Emirati and other regional designers alongside historical pieces. Right · 1Bassila said she looks for connection between works rather than uniformity, and hopes to encourage a deeper collecting culture and greater visibility for regional designers.
