The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Aerosmith announced on Wednesday 7 October 2026 that it will play two nights at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl, on October 29 and November 1, under the title "California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends". Mixed · 2The guests include The Black Crowes, Run-D.M.C., Heart, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Duff McKagan, Eric Church, Tom Morello and Jerry Cantrell. The line-up will vary each night, and Don Was is music director. Mixed · 2Further guests and surprise appearances are to be announced in the coming weeks, and final line-ups will be revealed at or near showtime, subject to change.

Centre · 1Deadline reports that the event was announced by Live Nation-Hewitt Silva and Blackbird Presents, and that the guests are artists who have played or recorded with Aerosmith or cite the band as an influence. Mixed · 2A Citi cardmember presale begins October 8 at 10 a.m. PT, with general sale on October 10 at 10 a.m. PT. Mixed · 2The band teased the shows on social media earlier in the week. Variety describes Steven Tyler on a ladder next to photographer Ross Halpin, putting letters on the Hollywood Bowl sign.

Mixed · 2The announcement comes after the band's "Peace Out" farewell tour, announced in May 2023, was cut short in September 2023 by Tyler's vocal cord and larynx problems. In August 2024 the group said it had retired from touring because Tyler's "recovery from his vocal injury is not possible". Left · 1Variety notes that Tyler still appeared publicly after that, at a Grammy Awards watch party in February 2025 and at Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's farewell concert in July 2025. Centre · 1Deadline's second report observes that the announcement does not name any Aerosmith members, although the accompanying photo shows all five members of the classic line-up: Tyler, drummer Joey Kramer, guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, and bassist Tom Hamilton. It notes that Kramer was absent from the farewell tour. The announcement's own wording says the shows offer fans "a rare opportunity to experience the band together once again".

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
