The story, neutrally told

Left · 2Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, as relayed by Futurism, reported that an AI agent deleted the new season of The Challenge Sverige weeks before its planned 22 November premiere. Left · 2According to the report, the files cannot be recovered, so the production company, Mastiff, must recut the entire season from scratch. Left · 2Aftonbladet's sources said the deletion happened after an AI agent was given access to Mastiff's servers; Rolling Stone says it wiped a year's worth of work.

Left · 1Rolling Stone, citing TV4, which airs the show, says the original air date has been pushed back to next year. Left · 1TV4 called the incident a "technical breakdown" and said it did not know whether an AI agent played a role. Left · 2TV4 program director Mia Lindqvist denied that an AI agent "acted independently", saying most production companies use AI in their work but that this was a different matter.

Left · 1Lindqvist said the main problem was that Mastiff's backup did not work, that the raw material still exists, and that the cost is lost time; per Futurism's translation she attributed the deletion to the "human factor" and "not AI". Left · 1Host Ahed Behran, asked by Aftonbladet whether it was true, joked: "I knew AI would be the death of me, this is just the beginning."

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Framing
Both outlets lead with the Aftonbladet/Futurism report of an AI deletion, then give TV4's denial; the A.V. Club uses sarcasm to criticise AI in entertainment, while Rolling Stone is more measured.
Emphasis
AI agent blamed; TV4's backup and human-factor explanation; lost time and recutting.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither independently verifies the cause or quotes Mastiff; the A.V. Club omits the delay to next year.
Charged language
“AI, the inevitable future of entertainment”“Talk about meeting The Challenge”“warning sign”
For example
“Good news, Hollywood: You no longer have to blame lost Nicolas Cage movies on theft. AI will do the dirty work for you.” — The A.V. Club
“serves as a warning sign for other productions to ensure backups are set” — Rolling Stone
