The story, neutrally told

Right · 1Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Sunday 25 October 2026 that Tehran insists in its talks with the United States that the war end on all fronts, according to the state-run ISNA agency as reported by JNS. Right · 1He said Iran had stressed this in negotiations with the American side "through Pakistan, Qatar or other friends", adding that "all issues in the region are intertwined". Right · 1JNS added that Iran has repeatedly sought to link a deal with the Trump administration to a halt in Israeli operations in Lebanon and Gaza, which it called Iran's "terrorist proxies".

Mixed · 2Araghchi said the war had "changed everything" and that "new realities" had emerged, including that Hormuz shipping routes and management of the strait would no longer be as before. Mixed · 3He called for foreign forces to be absent from the region, saying they should be "reduced to zero" in JNS's rendering, and Anadolu said Tehran would welcome any security plan originating from within the region. Left · 1AFP, carried by The Hindu, reported him saying a resumption of war with Israel and the US would not change Iran's positions, as Trump said on 23 October that Washington "may do another little Epic Fury".

Left · 1The US-Israeli campaign began on 28 February; an 8 April ceasefire ended the most intense fighting, and a June memorandum of understanding later unravelled, with Tehran now calling for a return to it. Centre · 1Anadolu said Iran and the US remain at odds over the strait, with Tehran insisting on its authority to manage passage and Washington demanding unrestricted navigation, while talks have stalled. Right · 1JNS reported Araghchi also called Israel "the sole factor of instability and warmongering" in the region.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
