The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Barcelona beat Galatasaray 4-1 away in the Champions League on Tuesday 13 October, on the second matchday of the competition. Centre · 2Galatasaray took the lead in the 27th or 28th minute (the two reports differ). Aleksei Batrakov scored from the edge of the area after Rafael Leao pulled the ball back. AFP says the shot deflected off Joao Cancelo on its way in, after Anthony Gordon had gone down in the Barcelona penalty area and the hosts counter-attacked. Centre · 2Galatasaray thought they had doubled their lead but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. Anadolu says the ruled-out effort was a header by Baris Alper Yilmaz. AFP says Victor Osimhen headed a corner past goalkeeper Joan Garcia and Yilmaz toed the ball over the line.

Centre · 2Barcelona equalised in the 43rd minute. Cancelo scored after a move involving Yamal and Dani Olmo, and the sides went in level at 1-1. Centre · 2After the break Yamal was decisive. In the 50th minute Fermin Lopez headed in his cross to make it 2-1. Three minutes later Yamal set up Gordon for a close-range finish to make it 3-1. AFP says Yamal had earlier set up Gordon, who missed the chance, and that he beat Eren Elmali three times in a tight space before the third goal. Centre · 2In the 65th minute Karim Adeyemi made it 4-1, firing home after substitute Gabriel Jesus's touch. AFP says Yamal had played the pass to Jesus, who could not control it, and that it deflected to Adeyemi. Barcelona then controlled the closing stages.

Centre · 1Yamal, 19, did not score, having shot over the bar when he had a chance. AFP says a goal would have taken him closer to Kylian Mbappe's record for Champions League goals as a teenager. He took the captain's armband again when Pedri was substituted. Centre · 1Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Yamal, saying "He's turned the game around for us." Fermin Lopez said Barcelona were at "a very high level" but could not relax because the season is long. AFP reports the win put Barcelona top of the table with two wins, while Galatasaray have no points.

Emphasis
Anadolu stresses the sequence of goals and the second-half turnaround. AFP stresses Yamal's role, quotes from Flick and Fermin Lopez, and the league-table position.
