The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Reports emerged around 31 October that Bill Belichick, the 74-year-old North Carolina Tar Heels football coach, and his 25-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson had split. Left · 1The Daily Mirror, citing US outlet TMZ, said the pair "ended their relationship late last year" and that Hudson has been "seeing other people" since. It gave no reason for the split, and said neither had publicly confirmed it. Right · 1Fox News said the two are reported to have called it quits more than a year ago but "remain close friends", and are still reportedly in business together.

Left · 1The Mirror said the pair met on a flight from Boston to Florida in 2022, were first photographed together in January 2023 and went public in June 2024. It also said they lived together in North Carolina. Left · 1The Mirror noted that Hudson had been a visible presence on the Tar Heels' sidelines this season, including at the 30-31 loss to Syracuse on 25 October. It also pointed to a May 2026 Kentucky Derby photo she posted with the caption "Not the first time we’ve trudged through the mud together." That post sits oddly with a late-2025 split, it said. Right · 1At a press conference on Monday 2 November, after North Carolina nearly upset No. 1 Miami on Saturday, WRAL reporter Brian Murphy asked Belichick about the reported breakup, according to the New York Post as cited by Fox News.

Right · 1Belichick replied, "Do you work for a tabloid now?" and said, "I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself, if that's alright with you?" Left · 1The Mirror recalled earlier scrutiny of Hudson's influence. It cited a Daily Mail claim that she has built a property portfolio worth £6.72m and registered 18 companies, her interruption of a CBS Sunday Morning interview, and Belichick's September Wall Street Journal remark that reports she controlled most aspects of his life were "a flat-out lie".

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
