The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Black Bear has acquired domestic rights to the romantic comedy "Honeymoon / Funeral", starring Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee and Carrie Coon. Mixed · 2The film was shopped at the newly created market at the Toronto International Film Festival; Deadline's sources said it was one of a handful of projects successfully sold there, alongside the horror film "River" and Michelle Yeoh's "The Surgeon". Mixed · 2The story follows two women who meet on a flight from Los Angeles to London: one is heading alone on her honeymoon after being left at the altar by her girlfriend, the other is going home for her mother's funeral, and they spend the week together.

Left · 1The Hollywood Reporter adds that Coon plays Sarah, the ex-fiancée of Lee's character, and describes the film as a gay rom-com. Left · 2Nahnatchka Khan directs from a screenplay by Julia Bicknell. Khan and Jennifer Carreras produce under the Fierce Baby banner, with Bicknell also producing. Mixed · 2MRC financed and oversaw production, and FilmNation Entertainment is the worldwide sales agent.

Left · 2Filming wrapped in London in September 2026, and the film is in post-production. Mixed · 2Katie Anderson, Black Bear's EVP of Acquisitions, called it "an original and hilarious story that is deeply human, anchored by the performances of Rebecca, Greta and Carrie, three of the best actresses working today". Mixed · 2Black Bear's other upcoming releases include "Wicker", which Deadline says opens domestically on October 23, Guy Ritchie's "Wife & Dog" and David Leitch's "Jason Statham Stole My Bike". No release date or price for "Honeymoon / Funeral" is given.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
