The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Bradley Walsh will host Bradley Walsh's Million Pound Shot, a one-off Channel 4 quiz with £1 million at stake, airing at 9pm on Sunday 1 November. Mixed · 2Three contestants compete for the prize in front of a live studio audience. Right · 1Channel 4 initially teased it as a quiz with "one huge secret twist in a night of drama, tension and life changing outcomes", and kept the details of the twist hidden.

Centre · 1Digital Spy reported that speculation spread on X about the twist, with The TV Podcast host Chuck Thomas asking whether it might be "a massive television hoax" and citing production company KFO Films's record of documentaries and stunts. Centre · 1Channel 4 then revealed that, in what it called a British TV first, contestants will play with their own money, bringing bank cards and choosing how much to bet based on their confidence in their answers. Centre · 1Correct answers earn 'bet balls', which contestants can cash out or fire into the Million Pound Shot Machine to try to win the top prize.

Centre · 1Walsh said the programme is "unlike anything we've seen on British TV before" and that there are "more twists and turns along the way". Right · 1Walsh has presented ITV's The Chase since 2009, so the show gives him a quiz-hosting role beyond ITV. He also fronts Beat the Chasers and appears with his son Barney in Bradley Walsh and Son: Breaking Dad, and is due on Sky History on 3 November in Bradley Walsh: Out of This World. Right · 1The Express said viewers on social media welcomed the news, though some were unsure what to expect from the closely guarded format.
