The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2First official images have been released from Bosch: Start of Watch, a prequel to the Bosch crime series, showing Cameron Monaghan as a young Harry Bosch. Centre · 2Monaghan plays rookie cop Harry Bosch and Omari Hardwick plays veteran officer Eli Bridges; Collider notes the series features an all-new cast, so Titus Welliver, who played Bosch in the earlier series, is not returning. Centre · 1Set in 1992 Los Angeles, it follows 26-year-old Bosch in his earliest days as a cop, in a city Deadline describes as teeming with racial tension, gang violence and a fractured LAPD, where he is drawn into a high-profile heist and a web of criminal corruption.

Centre · 1Series regulars also include Ariana Guerra as Rosa and JD Pardo as Cory, with Kathleen Wilhoite, William Fichtner, Rafi Gavron, Raphael Sbarge, Azita Ghanizada, Kenneth Miller, Seamus Dever, Ryan McPartlin, Marco Rodriguez and Shelli Boone also appearing in the eight-episode season. Centre · 1Fabel Entertainment produces; Tom Bernardo and Brian Anthony co-created it and are executive producers, with Bernardo as showrunner, and author Michael Connelly is also an executive producer. Centre · 1Deadline reports the show premieres Sunday 10 January with two episodes, then weekly until a finale on 21 February, on MGM+ in the US, UK, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Latin America.

Centre · 1Collider instead says it will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on 10 January 2027, a discrepancy between the two outlets about the platform. Centre · 1Collider adds that Harry Bosch was created by Michael Connelly in the 1992 novel The Black Echo, that there are 25 Bosch novels with a 26th due next month, and that the original Bosch series debuted in 2017 as one of Prime Video's first original series.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Framing
Both are entertainment-trade pieces built around the first-look images. Collider leads with Monaghan replacing Titus Welliver; Deadline leads with Monaghan and Hardwick and gives cast, crew and release details.
Emphasis
Collider stresses the recasting and the franchise's history; Deadline stresses cast, crew, setting and release schedule.
Leaves out or plays down
Collider gives little on cast, plot or crew and does not name Hardwick; Deadline does not mention Welliver or the recasting.
