The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Channel 4 has commissioned a three-part series, Our Scottish Hotel, that follows Andy Murray, his wife Kim and their team of about 80 staff through a major renovation of the Cromlix hotel in Scotland. Mixed · 2Cromlix is a five-star Victorian country house hotel near Dunblane, where the couple married in 2015; the Independent and Evening Standard say they acquired it in 2013, and the Evening Standard says they have run it for more than a decade. Mixed · 2The project involves building a new wing with two new restaurants. The Daily Express adds that the series was filmed over nearly a full year and that the hotel closes for five months so the main construction can go ahead, with the couple returning to judge the result.

Mixed · 2Kim Murray, 38, whom the hotel's website describes as the creative force behind the venture, said the last couple of years brought a huge building project and a new direction for fine dining and wellness, and that she wanted to document it. Left · 1She said she and Andy, 39, had never worked together before, calling it "a fascinating process – and a learning curve". Mixed · 2Channel 4 commissioning editor Emily Shields described the series as a "rare glimpse" of a business where "no detail is overlooked" and, "at its heart", a story about people.

Right · 1James Rogan, co-CEO of production company Rogan Scotland, said the series captures the couple's "contrasting instincts, ambitions and sense of humour", including the food, the David Shrigley artworks and the search for water beneath the estate. Left · 1The Independent also recalls Kim's 2024 Telegraph interview, in which she described living with Andy through his injuries as "hard work", including his 2017 hip injury.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
