The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Coyote vs. Acme has become the No. 1 movie on Apple's digital chart in the United States, following its September 29 premium video-on-demand release. Centre · 2Collider says it can be rented for $19.99 or bought for $24.99 in the US; Screen Rant adds that it is also at No. 5 on Prime Video in the US and that disc editions (Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD) arrive on December 1. Centre · 1The animated/live-action comedy, directed by Dave Green, has Wile E. Coyote hire attorney Kevin Avery (Will Forte) to sue the ACME corporation; John Cena plays ACME's lawyer Buddy Crane and Eric Bauza voices the Coyote.

Centre · 2Warner Bros. shelved the finished film in November 2023, which drew substantial criticism in Hollywood; Screen Rant attributes the decision to a tax write-off and notes it came soon after the Batgirl movie was scrapped. Centre · 1Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights, reportedly for about $50 million according to Collider, and released the film in theatres on August 28. Centre · 2Box office figures are given differently: Collider cites $58.4 million domestically per Rotten Tomatoes, while Screen Rant cites $110 million worldwide.

Centre · 2Both outlets report Rotten Tomatoes scores of 96% from critics (nearly 300 reviews; 296 per Screen Rant) and 94% from audiences, although Collider's headline describes the 96% as an audience score. Centre · 1Screen Rant stresses James Gunn's role as producer and story contributor alongside Jeremy Slater and Samy Burch, and quotes its own review praising the toons and Wile E. Coyote as 'the true star'.

Framing
Both celebrate the film's comeback from shelving to streaming hit. Collider uses a cartoon 'anvil' metaphor aimed at Warner Bros.; Screen Rant ties the story to James Gunn and DC Studios.
Emphasis
Chart position, Rotten Tomatoes scores, the shelving and rescue by Ketchup Entertainment, and cast details.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither gives sources for chart rankings beyond the stores themselves; Screen Rant omits the price and Ketchup's purchase price, while Collider omits Prime Video and the worldwide gross.
Charged language
“remarkable turnaround”“Near-Perfect”“All-Time Rotten Tomatoes Record”“never seeing the light of day”
For example
“We can't lie, we enjoy when a movie studio tries to drop an anvil on a movie and they end up missing it and it lands on their own foot instead.” — Collider
“it's becoming clear that the world is embracing Coyote vs. Acme” — Screen Rant
