Donna Gigliotti and Mike Farah elected Producers Guild of America presidents

The Producers Guild of America announced on Tuesday that film producer Donna Gigliotti and comedy producer Mike Farah are its new presidents, succeeding Donald De Line and Stephanie Allain.

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced on Tuesday that Donna Gigliotti and Mike Farah have been elected its new presidents. They succeed Donald De Line and Stephanie Allain, who have been the guild's presidents since 2022. In a joint statement, Gigliotti and Farah called it "an incredible honor" to serve "at such a pivotal moment for our industry" and thanked their predecessors.

De Line and Allain said they were "thrilled to pass the baton" and that the new presidents share a commitment to supporting producers. Gigliotti won the Best Picture Oscar for producing Shakespeare in Love, becoming the third woman to do so, and later earned Best Picture nominations for Hidden Figures, Silver Linings Playbook and The Reader. The outlets differ on the year of that win: The Hollywood Reporter says 1999, Deadline says 1998.

IndieWire and Deadline add that she earned Emmy nominations, and served a full six-year term on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Farah, a three-time Emmy winner, joined Funny or Die as its first producer in 2008 and later became CEO; he once worked as Allain's assistant. He has since become an independent producer after nearly two decades at the company.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that under Allain and De Line the guild tightened rules on vanity producer credits and launched an initiative to fund health insurance for producers.
