The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2A Ukrainian drone attack overnight on the Russian border city of Belgorod killed people and injured 13 on Sunday 25 October, local authorities said. Mixed · 2Early reports put the Belgorod death toll at two; Mayor Valentin Demidov later said another injured man had died in hospital, raising it to three. Mixed · 2Governor Alexander Shuvayev said the attack damaged 30 blocks of flats, 35 cars, four houses, three administrative buildings, eight commercial premises and three social facilities.

Mixed · 2Separately, a Ukrainian drone struck a car in the village of Voznesenovka near Shebekino on Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring another, according to Reuters; this brought the total to four dead. Left · 1The Independent's live coverage placed the Belgorod strikes among other overnight events: a drone attack damaged an industrial site in Russia's Perm region and injured five workers, governor Dmitry Makhonin said, and Russia's Defence Ministry said it hit a cargo vessel bound for Chornomorsk. Left · 1The same live blog cited an earlier Kyiv Independent report of one civilian killed and 10 injured, with drones reportedly targeting the closed MegaGRINN shopping complex; the Kyiv Independent said it could not verify this, and officials did not name targets.

Left · 1The Independent set the attacks against wider context: Ukraine's restored use of Starlink, a US push for new talks, and heavy Russian strikes on Ukraine, including a drone strike in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast that killed three civilians on Saturday.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
