The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will open the final bridge of the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project on Friday, 30 October 2026. Centre · 2The 1,000-metre, two-lane bridge will carry about 3,000 vehicles per hour from Al Majlis Street towards 2nd December Street. Centre · 2The RTA says the journey between those streets will fall from six minutes to one, and the average delay at the intersection from 12 minutes to 90 seconds.

Centre · 2With this bridge the project will have five bridges with a combined length of 5,000 metres, at a cost of more than Dh696 million, and the RTA estimates it will serve more than 500,000 residents and visitors. Centre · 1Gulf News details the layout: the former roundabout became an at-grade intersection linking Sheikh Zayed Road with five streets, with one second-level bridge from Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street towards Deira, two bridges linking Sheikh Rashid Street with 2nd December Street, and two linking Al Majlis Street with 2nd December Street. Centre · 2Mattar Al Tayer, the RTA's Director General, said the completion accords with the directives of the "wise leadership" to upgrade Dubai's roads, ease traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road and raise network capacity to keep pace with population and economic growth.

Centre · 2Al Tayer said the project complements the Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, due for completion in 2027, which includes bridges and tunnels totalling 1,500 metres and widening the street to four lanes in each direction. Centre · 1Gulf News adds that the Al Mustaqbal works would raise capacity by 33%, from 9,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour; the article gives two different journey-time cuts for that street (13 to six minutes, and eight minutes to three minutes 30 seconds). Centre · 1The roundabout sits on Sheikh Zayed Road and serves areas including Dubai World Trade Centre, the Dubai International Financial Centre, Zaa'beel, Al Satwa, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya and Al Mankhool.
