The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Trine Dyrholm, Christian Slater and Dree Hemingway are set to star in Incidents of Intimacy, the second production in Zentropa's new Dogma25 collection of films. Mixed · 2Danish actors Johannes Lilleøre, Julie Agnete Vang, Laura Drasbæk and Michael Moritzen are also in the cast. Mixed · 2Dyrholm plays a woman who cannot acknowledge or access her own feelings and who steals objects from people instead of getting close to them, filing them in an "archive of intimacy" in her cupboard; The Hollywood Reporter names the character Linda and describes her as an intimacy coordinator.

Centre · 1Deadline adds that a triangular relationship destabilises her system, so that emotions detach from their origins and the objects take on a life of their own. Mixed · 2Just is a visual artist whose work is in major museum collections and who represented Denmark at the 2013 Venice Biennale; this is his first feature, co-written with Sissel Dalsgaard Thomsen. Mixed · 2Dyrholm's casting is described as a homecoming, since she was in The Celebration, the first film made under the original 1995 Dogme manifesto; Slater has a Zentropa link through a supporting role in Lars von Trier's 2013 Nymphomaniac.

Mixed · 2Dogma25 reboots the Dogme 95 movement, and five directors are making films under it for Zentropa: May el-Toukhy, Milad Alami, Annika Berg, Isabella Eklöf and Just. Mixed · 2Under the new "vow of chastity", crews are limited to ten people behind the camera, at least half of each film must be without dialogue, and the internet is off limits in creative processes. Mixed · 2The films are financed by Zentropa, broadcaster DR and Nordisk Film Distribution, with Netflix joining in the Nordics; Incidents of Intimacy also has support from the Danish Film Institute, the Eastern Denmark Film Fund and Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and TrustNordisk handles international sales.

Left · 1The Hollywood Reporter says each film has a maximum budget of 10 million Danish kroner (about $1.5 million) and will be released in Danish cinemas by Nordisk Film, and notes that a similar Dogma 25 project has been announced in Germany with directors including Tom Tykwer. Mixed · 2The two outlets differ on when the initiative was unveiled: Deadline says it was first announced at Cannes "last May", while The Hollywood Reporter says Cannes "last year"; they also spell the director's first name differently (Jesper in Deadline, Jasper in The Hollywood Reporter).

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
