The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2EastEnders actor Harry Farr, who plays Ollie Carter, is leaving the BBC soap after nine years, according to reports that Farr has filmed final scenes. Mixed · 2The news comes from an Instagram post by Farr's mother, Laura, which The Sun reported and both outlets relay: "And that's a wrap! Emotional ending after such a long time for him, but wow what an amazing experience (with some of the nicest people) he's had." Mixed · 2Farr joined the cast in 2017 as the son of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), though Digital Spy notes Farr has only been credited since 2020.

Mixed · 2The exit follows that of Linda actor Kellie Bright, who announced in August that she will leave in 2027, and of Charlie Suff, who plays Johnny Carter and whose departure was confirmed in August. Mixed · 2The Independent says Farr's final scenes are expected to air in the coming weeks to match the exits of Linda and Johnny, while Digital Spy says it is not known when or how Linda and Ollie will leave, suggesting they will be on screen until at least the start of 2027. Left · 1The Independent adds that Pierre Counihan-Moullier (Oscar Branning) and Sophie Khan Levy (Priya Nandra-Hart) are also leaving.

Left · 1Kellie Bright said she made the decision to leave over a year ago but extended her stay for an exciting storyline, and executive producer Ben Wadey promised her exit storyline will be "full of unmissable drama"; Charlie Suff told Radio Times he is "gutted" to go. Mixed · 2The Independent, citing a source quoted by The Sun on Sunday, reports that Linda is not expected to be killed off and that the door is being left open for a return; the BBC has not been quoted confirming Farr's exit directly in either report.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Leaves out or plays down

“EastEnders star films "emotional" final scenes as exit is confirmed” — Digital Spy
