The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Producers announced that eight cast members of Bravo's Real Housewives franchise will star in a reimagined Off-Broadway revival of Neil Simon's 1988 comedy farce Rumors. Mixed · 2It will play the Newman Mills Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space, with a first preview on 9 January 2027, an official opening on 25 January and a strictly limited 14-week run. Left · 1Two casts will appear in succession. From 9 January to 28 February, Lisa Rinna plays Chris, Phaedra Parks plays Claire, Stacey Rusch plays Cookie and Dolores Catania plays Cassie.

Mixed · 2From 2 March to 21 April, Cynthia Bailey, Eileen Davidson, Carole Radziwill and Candiace Dillard-Bassett take over as Chris, Claire, Cookie and Cassie respectively. Mixed · 2Seven of the eight will make their New York stage debuts. Rinna previously appeared on Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago in 2007, and Deadline adds that she will appear this holiday season in the Broadway "radio play" of It’s a Wonderful Life. Mixed · 2Tony Award winner Zhailon Levingston, who directed CATS: The Jellicle Ball, will direct, and Benson Drive Productions (CEO George Strus) will produce. Further casting is to be announced later.

Mixed · 2Levingston said the play will be performed "without changing a single word of Simon’s brilliant text", and that the Housewives lens reveals "the delicious chaos that unfolds when private lives become public spectacle." Mixed · 2The play follows four couples at a party in a wealthy New York suburb who find their host in an alarming state, his wife missing and the police on their way. The original Broadway cast included Christine Baranski, Jessica Walter and Joyce Van Patten, and Baranski won a Tony Award for her performance as Chris Gorman.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
