The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle in Emmerdale, confirmed on This Morning on Wednesday 7 October that he is leaving the ITV soap. Mixed · 2He gave the news away by mentioning an "exit storyline", which soap expert Sharon Marshall picked up on; he asked whether he had said that, then confirmed he was leaving. Mixed · 2Johnson said he has spent "seven and a half years" on the show, called it "an incredible journey" and described the cast and crew as a big family.

Centre · 1Digital Spy reports he said he turns 30 next year and feels it is a perfect time to start a new chapter, calling it daunting but exciting, and that he plans to give music "a good go". Mixed · 2Reports of his departure had circulated earlier in the year, and both outlets say this is the first time he has confirmed it. Right · 1On screen, Vinny was recently revealed as responsible for the crash that killed Jimmy King and Dawn Taylor on Dawn's wedding day; he confessed to police, was arrested and released on bail, and faces a court appearance.

Centre · 1Johnson did not reveal the outcome of next week's court scenes, saying Vinny might be sent to Ireland or receive a long or short sentence, or none.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
