Mixed · 2Erin Foster, creator of Netflix's "Nobody Wants This", said she disagrees with the show's star Adam Brody over his support for a "free Palestine" and his description of Israel's actions as "genocide", while saying it was "OK" for them to differ. Mixed · 2Foster spoke on the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, whose full episode is set to air on Oct. 27. She said: "it’s complicated", and compared the set to "dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing". Mixed · 2She said, "While I love Adam, I also disagree with him and that's OK," and added that she wanted "our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel."

Mixed · 2Foster described the show as "a love letter to Judaism", made because of her own experience of becoming Jewish and the lack of positive Jewish representation, and said everyone is entitled to a different opinion from hers. Mixed · 2Brody made the remarks in a September interview with GQ, saying: "Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine." He also said he hoped "another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies". Right · 1In the same interview Brody said political activism in Hollywood had declined, and criticised President Trump's first term, according to Fox News.

Centre · 1Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Brody's mother Bina, told the New York Post that "To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild" and that it was "right out of Hitler’s playbook", as reported by Deadline. Right · 1Fox News quoted Mor Greenberg, founder of the PR firm MorMedia Group, who works with pro-Israel groups. She said it was "disappointing" that the lead actor made headlines for comments "deeply upsetting to many in the Jewish community" and praised Foster's response. Fox News said it had asked Brody's team for comment, and no response from Brody is reported in either article.
