The story, neutrally told

Centre · 1Israel has continued to strike Gaza almost every day since the ceasefire began on 10 October 2025, according to the BBC. Mixed · 2Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry, whose figures the UN considers reliable, says more than 1,400 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire; Al Jazeera cites a ministry figure of 1,471 killed and 5,189 wounded, including four killed and 28 wounded in the previous 24 hours. Mixed · 2The BBC reports that more than 30 people were killed in the past week and more than 300 children since the ceasefire began, per the ministry; the UK-based charity Islamic Relief put the toll at at least 1,454 killed and more than 5,000 wounded, including at least 320 children, equal to one person killed or wounded every 90 minutes.

Mixed · 2The total death toll since the war began, triggered by the Hamas-led attack of 7 October 2023 in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage, is put by the ministry at more than 74,000 (74,254 in Al Jazeera's report). Centre · 1Israel says it is targeting Hamas operatives and accuses Hamas of continued ceasefire violations; asked about two killings on 21 September, including that of 31-year-old Fida al-Toutah, the Israel Defense Forces told the BBC it had no record or information about either. Centre · 1The ceasefire saw thousands of Palestinians held by Israel freed in exchange for the remaining hostages, ended Israel's large-scale bombardment and increased aid, and at least seven Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since it began.

Mixed · 2The so-called Yellow Line separates Israeli-held areas from Hamas-controlled ones; the BBC says the population is squeezed into under 40% of the territory and that areas near the line are the most dangerous, while Islamic Relief says Israel has used it to push Palestinians out of 65% of Gaza. Centre · 1The peace plan is largely stalled: reconstruction has not begun because of an impasse over the deal's second phase, Netanyahu rejected a Trump plan to disarm Hamas in August saying no military pull-out would happen until Hamas was 'genuinely' disarmed, and Hamas says handing over heavy weapons depends on Israel ending 'all forms of aggression' and withdrawing. Mixed · 2Trump's Board of Peace has proposed a $2.45bn recovery plan, and Netanyahu said in May he had directed the IDF to expand Israeli control to 70% of Gaza; Israel says it restricts materials and machinery for security reasons, while Islamic Relief says it continues to block shelter materials, fuel and medical supplies.

Left · 1Islamic Relief says about 82% of Gaza's structures are damaged or destroyed, more than half of health services have shut and over 20,000 severely ill patients are denied permission to leave for treatment; an unnamed aid worker said 'There is no ceasefire in reality', and the charity urged world leaders to increase pressure to protect civilians.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Left1 outlet

Framing
Leads with Islamic Relief's statistic that a Palestinian is killed or wounded every 90 minutes, framing the ceasefire as one in name only and calling for international pressure.
Emphasis
Casualty rates, children killed, blocked supplies, damage to health services and humanitarian conditions.
Leaves out or plays down
Does not include Israel's stated rationale of targeting Hamas or its accusations of Hamas violations, nor the stalled disarmament and reconstruction negotiations.
Charged language
“ceasefire in name only”
For example
“Israeli attacks have killed or wounded a Palestinian in Gaza every 90 minutes on average since the ceasefire was announced in October last year” — Al Jazeera
““There is no ceasefire in reality.” — Al Jazeera

Centre1 outlet

Framing
Human-centred anniversary report built on family testimony of killings and tent life, set against the stalled US peace plan, with Israel's position and IDF responses included.
Emphasis
Individual victims, displacement, the Yellow Line, and the diplomatic impasse over disarmament and reconstruction.
Leaves out or plays down
Gives less on aid-restriction figures and health-system damage than Islamic Relief's report.
Charged language
“so-called Yellow Line”
For example
“"It [the ceasefire] is all lies. Every day there's a shooting.” — BBC News
“Israel blocks international journalists from going in to Gaza to report freely.” — BBC News
