The story, neutrally told

William Oldroyd will write and direct a series based on Alice Feeney's upcoming novel Twist, with Fifth Season as studio. The project reunites much of the team behind His & Hers, Feeney's earlier book adapted for Netflix. Other companies developing it are Campout Productions, Freckle Films and Viva Maude, the last linked to Tessa Thompson and Bill Dubuque.

Deadline reported the news as an exclusive; Screen Rant's account cites Deadline. Twist follows a flight attendant living a double life with two husbands, whose lives are upended by a murder, told from dual points of view. Macmillan publishes the book in the U.S. in February 2027; Screen Rant gives the date as February 23 through its Flatiron Books: Pine & Cedar imprint.

Deadline says His & Hers, which premiered on Netflix in January, was the streamer's most-watched show of the first half of the year, with 104M views globally through the end of June. Fifth Season's Noah Greenshner and Feeney both welcomed the reunion; Feeney said it was an easy decision to "get the band back together". Neither article says Netflix has ordered the series or announces a cast or release date; it is described as in development.
