The story, neutrally told

Right · 1New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, told Politico on Tuesday that she was "excited" at the possibility of a Democratic Congress holding up President Donald Trump's agenda through investigations and hearings, according to Fox News. Right · 1She raised it while discussing Democrats' chances of retaking the House in November and also winning the Senate, which she called "next level, game-changing, extraordinary". Right · 1Hochul said that with a Democratic House and Senate there would be "investigations, there's hearings, there's subpoenas, there's questioning", and that this would put a media spotlight on Trump's "flood the zone" strategy.

Right · 1She said oversight committees would "tie things up", adding that Democrats did not want to stop "the workings of the good part of government" but wanted to stop what she called corruption and abuse. Right · 1In the same interview Hochul said she hoped to work with Trump in his final two years, citing her aim to build nuclear power in New York and a proposal she said was before him. Right · 1White House spokesperson Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital that Democrats' "only agenda is to continue their decade-long witch hunt against President Trump".

Right · 1David Laska, communications director of the New York Republican State Committee, said Hochul had "said the quiet part out loud" and described the planned hearings as "phony". Right · 1Hochul is up for re-election this November against Republican nominee and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. Right · 1Separately, Hot Air's John Sexton discussed a column by Jamelle Bouie arguing that newly elected Democrats should make investigating Trump their first priority, and that accountability is needed for what Bouie calls an administration of lawbreaking.

Right · 1Bouie warned that Trump was considering blanket pardons for subordinates, and noted some Democrats think pivoting to hearings and investigations is counterproductive; Sexton replied that Bouie cited no actual crime and called the use of two shootings as grounds for investigation "a ridiculous stretch".

Framing
Both pieces treat Democratic plans for congressional investigations of Trump as partisan obstruction: Fox News presents Hochul's remarks as an admission, and Hot Air rebuts Bouie's call for investigations as lacking evidence of crimes.
Emphasis
Hochul's stated aim to 'tie things up' and the Republican responses; Hot Air stresses the absence of specific alleged crimes and Biden-era immigration problems.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither piece includes Democratic voices other than Hochul and Bouie, and Fox gives Hochul's nuclear-power cooperation comments only brief space; no left or centre outlets covered the story.
Charged language
“quiet part out loud”“witch hunt”“phony hearings”“endless investigations”“anti-Trump and anti-Supreme Court boilerplate”
For example
“Kathy Hochul said the quiet part out loud” — Fox News
“Bouie offers all this anti-Trump and anti-Supreme Court boilerplate with nary a reference to an actual or alleged crime.” — Hot Air
