The story, neutrally told

Right · 1The Israel Defense Forces destroyed a monument in the Palestinian village of Madama near Nablus, along with monuments in nearby villages, the military confirmed to JNS on Tuesday 27 October. Right · 1On Wednesday the IDF said security forces had demolished 12 monuments to attackers in the West Bank that week, as part of ongoing efforts to remove such structures. Right · 1In August, Religious Zionism Party Knesset member Zvi Sukkot was filmed smashing the Madama monument. The IDF said then that his entry into the village had been coordinated, but the destruction of the monument had not.

Right · 1Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned that act, saying public officials must not take the law into their own hands, while Israeli military sources told Channel 12 News in August that the IDF had already been preparing to demolish the monument. Right · 1The monument removals were part of a wider operation across several West Bank villages and the city of Nablus. On Wednesday Israeli forces destroyed two homes in Beita belonging to Zakariya Muhammad Abd Daoud and Ibrahim Abd al-Karim Abd Daoud, who the IDF says carried out three attacks with explosive devices in 2024 and 2025, wounding soldiers in two of them. Right · 1In the same operation, troops searched about 300 locations, arrested eight wanted individuals, and confiscated weapons including a hunting rifle, a handgun and ammunition. The Duvdevan Unit also arrested a man accused of trafficking explosives and weapons.

Right · 1Separately, the military said it was continuing operations around Hebron after a Friday attack that killed two IDF soldiers, confiscating weapons and arresting six suspects, including one with alleged ties to Hamas.
