The story, neutrally told

Right · 1A federal court filing from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro's office referred to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar", according to Breitbart. Right · 1The filing concerned three applications to unseal ex parte materials and proceedings related to a federal search warrant for Omar's Washington, D.C., home. Right · 1Omar denies using an alias in the United States. Omar told FOX 9 News, "My name is Ilhan Abdullahi Omar", and FOX 9 reported that Omar is listed as "Ilhan Omar" in a junior-year yearbook from Edison High School in Minneapolis.

Right · 1Breitbart notes that "Said Elmi" is also the last name of Omar's ex-husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, and says allegations have circulated for years that he is Omar's brother. Omar has not been shown in this coverage to have confirmed this, and in an MS NOW interview with Chris Hayes the week before, asked whether Omar was related to the ex-husband, Omar answered "Not to my knowledge". Right · 1Breitbart reports that Fox News Digital then published a report, citing federal officials involved in an immigration investigation, that Omar's real name is "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi". This is an unverified claim from unnamed sources. Right · 2Homeland Security Investigations agents searched Omar's Washington home on 12 October before dawn, according to Hot Air. Breitbart says agents took 17 items and that reports state they obtained Omar's DNA before the search. Hot Air's list of items includes cell phones, personal computers, notebooks and a passport.

Right · 1Hot Air, in an opinion column, argues that Omar "should be known as 'Ilhan Nur Said Elmi'" because the Department of Justice used that name in a recent filing. It also draws on research compiled by Scott Johnson of Powerline and David Steinberg, and on Benjamin Weingarten's book, to allege fraud.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Framing
Breitbart gives a news report that leads with Omar's denial and sets it against the filing and earlier allegations. Hot Air runs an opinion column that treats the filing as confirming long-held suspicions of fraud.
Emphasis
The name in the filing, the ex-husband's surname, the unproven sibling allegations, the HSI search and the unconfirmed Fox News Digital report on Omar's 'real name'.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither article quotes a response from the Justice Department or Omar's office on the filing beyond the FOX 9 quote. Neither gives context for the 'a/k/a' wording. Neither includes left or centre perspectives.
Charged language
“incestuous fraudster”“Trump-and-America-hating”“Ilhan What’s-Her-Name”“raided”
For example
“Omar’s Washington, DC, home was raided by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents this month” — Breitbart
“this incestuous fraudster” — Hot Air
“The hijab-clad, Trump-and-America-hating, Somali-born woman” — Hot Air
