The story, neutrally told

Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said on Wednesday 30 September that Iran had received the official US response to its proposal to end the war, which Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi presented to President Masoud Pezeshkian at a cabinet meeting. A day earlier, Araghchi had said in New York that Iran had made no changes to what became known as the seven-point plan, which was passed to the US through Qatar, and that Tehran was waiting for an official answer. CBS reported that the plan includes a phased reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran demanding that the US meet conditions in a June memorandum of understanding.

CNA reported that the conditions include a ceasefire across the Middle East including Lebanon, unfreezing of Iranian assets, lifting of oil sanctions and an end to the US naval blockade; it said not all conditions have been made public. Trump rejected the proposal when speaking to reporters on Saturday, according to CNA, and CBS's headline also describes it as already rejected. CBS's text reports Trump writing "I offered them NOTHING!" in response to an Axios report about sanctions relief. Pezeshkian said Iran is making every possible effort to ensure the success of the Islamabad memorandum and had not compromised on its principles, according to Anadolu citing ISNA.

Revolutionary Guard spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said the US should admit defeat and leave the region, and dismissed claims that Hormuz shipping was being restored. On Wednesday the Guards said they had been striking small vessels trying to pass through the strait, and that the US had not retaliated for a while, CNA reported. Accounts of how the war began differ slightly: CNA and Anadolu say the US and Israel launched it in February, while ABC's article points to Trump's announcement of combat operations on 28 February. Whether the US reply accepts, rejects or modifies the plan is not yet known.

Framing
Tuesday live-blog coverage: Araghchi waiting for the US reply, alongside Revolutionary Guard hostility and Trump's denial of concessions.
Emphasis
Iranian military rhetoric, Trump's 'NOTHING' post, the rial's record low, sanctions on Iranian airlines and the Hormuz incidents.
Leaves out or plays down
Written before the reply arrived, so it doesn't cover the Wednesday announcement; ABC's text gives little on the seven points.
Charged language
“big lies”“admit defeat”
For example
“Iran says it expects response to cease-fire plan already rejected by Trump” — CBS News
“the U.S. should admit defeat in its war with Iran and "leave the region."” — ABC News

Framing
Wednesday reports that Iran has received the US reply, with the contents unknown, placing it in the wider Hormuz and sanctions context.
Emphasis
Mohajerani's announcement, the list of Iranian conditions, Pezeshkian's defence of the Islamabad memorandum, and the Guards' admission of striking vessels.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither outlet reports Trump's 'NOTHING' post or the Revolutionary Guard's calls for US protests; Anadolu doesn't mention Trump's rejection.
Charged language
“economic warfare”
For example
“The US, meanwhile, has stepped up its economic warfare against Iran” — CNA
“explaining the benefits of the negotiations and what had been achieved should not be interpreted as submission to Iran’s adversaries” — Anadolu Agency
