Mixed · 2Two Israeli military vehicles entered the Wadi al-Ruqqad area in the western countryside of Syria's Daraa province on Saturday 17 October, according to Syria's state news agency SANA. Mixed · 2The incursion coincided with Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flying over the western Yarmouk Basin, and no attacks or arrests were reported in Daraa. Right · 1Arab News, citing SANA, reported that Israeli forces also detained four people in Quneitra province that day: two near the village of Taranja in the north, and two in the south, where a force of more than 10 vehicles entered the Al-Razzaniyah and Abu Madhra farms and searched homes. One of the two southern detainees was released after several hours.

Centre · 1On Friday 16 October, Israeli forces entered an area west of the al-Razaniya farm in Quneitra and opened fire toward shepherds to stop them grazing before withdrawing, and entered and surrounded the town of Abidin in the Yarmouk Basin. Mixed · 2Israel has made repeated incursions into southern Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, including into the buffer zone set up by the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which created a UN-monitored area of separation after the 1973 war. Mixed · 2The Syrian government has condemned the incursions as violations of the agreement and demanded full Israeli withdrawal; its Foreign Ministry says Israel's construction and military operations threaten regional security.

Right · 1Arab News adds that Israel has expanded earthworks along what it calls the "Sufa 53 Line" in Quneitra, which Qatar, Jordan and Kuwait have condemned. Neither article carries an Israeli statement on the incidents.
