Per TMZ's family sources, Blanchard had texted him 'Happy Birthday' and got no reply; the Daily Mail and BNO News say Blanchard's brother, Dylan, then found him at home, while Hindustan Times says only that a family member did.

No official cause of death has been disclosed, and the circumstances remain unclear. Hindustan Times says social media posts based on a livestream by Urker's sister claimed the family did not suspect foul play and that he did not die of 'natural causes', and another post said he was 'very depressed'; it stresses these claims have not been officially reported or verified. The Daily Mail said it had asked Blanchard's representatives for comment, and Hindustan Times said Blanchard had not publicly explained what happened.

The couple's daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, was born on 28 December 2024, a year after Blanchard's release from prison, and is 21 months old according to the Daily Mail.
