The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Liam Gallagher has said he was offered a place on the BBC show The Celebrity Traitors and turned it down. Mixed · 2He was replying on X to a post that read "They should put Liam on Celebrity Traitors"; Gallagher wrote: "I’ve been asked it’s not my thing I’m not a celebrity." Left · 1The Independent reported that the BBC declined to comment.

Mixed · 2The show is hosted by Claudia Winkleman. Contestants try to identify the Traitors in the group while completing challenges to win money for a prize pot; if at least one Traitor remains among the finalists when they collectively end the game, the Traitors win the full prize and the Faithfuls lose out. Mixed · 2The second celebrity series began last Thursday, and its premiere was the most watched debut episode of any series of the programme in the UK, averaging 8.9 million viewers. Centre · 1This season's cast includes Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Richard E Grant, James Blunt, Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett.

Mixed · 2In episode two, journalist Amol Rajan was murdered by Traitors Jama and Grant, and comedian James Acaster was recruited as a third Traitor. The episode ended on a cliff-hanger after Grant, who had earlier slipped up and admitted he was a traitor, came under scrutiny at the first roundtable, leaving viewers not knowing who was banished. Left · 1The series continues on Thursday at 8pm on BBC One. The Independent also cited its own reviewer, Jessie Thompson, who called the show "the gift that keeps on giving".

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
