The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 25 and Acorn TV have confirmed the guest stars for the fifth season of the crime drama The Madame Blanc Mysteries, set in the fictional French town of Sainte Victoire. Mixed · 2The new run has seven episodes and begins on Thursday 29 October at 9.05pm on 5; a Christmas special is also planned. Mixed · 2The guests named include Bonnie Langford, Justin Moorhouse, Brian Capron, Michael Fenton Stevens, Su Pollard, Louisa Lytton, Frazer Hines and Zoe Lyons; Radio Times also lists Lesley Joseph and Jason Manford.

Centre · 1Returning regulars are Sally Lindsay as Jean White, Steve Edge as Dom Hayes, co-writer Sue Vincent as Gloria Beaushaw, Robin Askwith and Sue Holderness as Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James, and Alex Gaumond as Chief of Police André Caron; Radio Times also names Tony Robinson, Paul Chuckle and Stephen Bailey. Mixed · 2The synopsis has Jean and Dom planning their wedding amid unforeseen obstacles, with a dead body found at an iconic location, a pub quiz hosted by Uncle Patrick at La Couronne, a heart-wrenching dilemma for Judith and Jeremy, and someone found foaming at the mouth in St Victoire Theatre. Mixed · 2Lindsay, who created and co-wrote the show, said Sainte Victoire had attracted "absolute stellar stars who have all been absolutely fantastic" and that the world of Madame Blanc "gets bigger and better every year".

Centre · 1Radio Times adds that the first Madame Blanc novel, Madame Blanc and the Antiques Affair by Sally Lindsay with RW Green, will be published in November 2026 as an official prequel to the series. Right · 1The Daily Express notes that the show launched in 2021 and has broadcast four series, and that Hines's Emmerdale character Joe Sugden left in 1994 and moved to Spain before being killed off-screen in a car crash.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
