The story, neutrally told

Meta announced on Tuesday 29 September that it is expanding its Muse AI agent to small businesses, under the name Muse for Small Business. The tool links to Meta ad accounts and to professional Instagram and Facebook profiles, as well as outside software including Asana, Box, Canva, Zoom, Intuit and Slack. TechCrunch lists further integrations including Shopify, Dropbox, Figma, Notion, Stripe and Klaviyo.

TechCrunch reports the small-business version is free with usage limits and offers paid plans for more usage, while Breitbart says Meta did not disclose pricing and pointed to the existing Muse app's free tier with a paid subscription. Meta said small businesses told it they are "short on hours, not ideas" and that it built the tool to help them get work done with tools they already use. The launch follows a Meta Enterprise Platform announced the previous day, to be led by CJ Desai, the former MongoDB CEO.

Both outlets describe the moves as part of Meta's competition with AI rivals for business customers, with TechCrunch naming OpenAI and Google and Breitbart naming OpenAI and Anthropic. Muse launched on 8 September and topped app store charts ahead of ChatGPT; Breitbart adds an analyst forecast of 100 million users within six to 12 months. Breitbart also quotes a Phoenix business marketer who said Muse analysed 87,000 customer reviews in minutes; this is one user's account and not independently verified.
