The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Microsoft announced the Xbox Nano controller on 14 October 2026, a smaller and cheaper controller designed to fit in a pocket. Mixed · 2It costs $49.99 in the US and has a UK recommended price of £44.99. The Radio Times says that is £15 less than the standard Xbox Wireless controller, currently £59.99. Mixed · 2Pre-orders are open. The Verge says shipping starts in November, and the Radio Times gives a release date of Wednesday 4 November 2026. In the UK it can be pre-ordered from the Microsoft Store and Amazon.

Mixed · 2The controller is just over five inches long, shorter than most smartphones. The Radio Times gives its weight as 3.5 ounces. Mixed · 2Microsoft pitches it at younger players, people with smaller hands and anyone who wants something portable. It has the regular Xbox buttons (the Radio Times counts 18 standard gameplay inputs) and supports Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. That lets it connect to Xbox consoles, phones, tablets and PCs. Mixed · 2It has a built-in rechargeable battery, so it needs no AA batteries or separate charging pack. It also has a programmable Action Button that can be set to take screenshots, capture gameplay and run other Xbox shortcuts.

Left · 1The Verge notes that the Nano leaked earlier this year with what looked like a small screen showing cloud or console connectivity. That screen is not on the final model, which otherwise matches the leaks, including a USB-C port at the rear and a pairing button.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
