The story, neutrally told

Right · 2Angie Barlow, 23, disappeared in Indianapolis on Oct. 26, 2016, after texting her roommate the address of a private dancing gig at the Landmark Apartment and Townhomes. Right · 2Her mother, Christina Kramer, told Fox News Digital the text read: "About to work this private party in case I go missing LOL." Right · 1Nearly eight months later, searchers found Barlow's remains in the backyard of a residence off Harcourt in Indianapolis, WISH-TV reported; Kramer said her daughter had been fatally shot.

Right · 2Kramer said apartment-complex surveillance footage showed two vehicles leaving at about 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, 2016: Barlow's blue Pontiac G6, followed closely by a black sedan she believes belonged to a female acquaintance who worked with Barlow at Club Rio. WISH-TV reported that tinted windows prevented investigators from identifying the drivers or occupants. Right · 2Kramer said she used the GPS tracker from the dealership where Barlow bought the car to locate it about eight miles from the complex, where it was trashed inside and looked as though it had been driven under a fence. Right · 2Kramer said that in a January 2017 call, the acquaintance, who had been at the party with her boyfriend, said "Oh, you want to know what her last words were," which Kramer took as a taunt; the woman denied making the call or having that conversation, according to Kramer.

Right · 2The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said no criminal charges have been filed and the investigation remains open, with Detective Jose Torres as lead investigator; it declined further comment. Right · 2Kramer said a special prosecutor assigned to the case left the office and that she has not heard from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in about two years, has no point of contact there, and has not received replies from Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Mears; the office did not respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment. Right · 2Kramer described Barlow, the eldest of four sisters from Muncie, as a gifted athlete, and said the death has affected the family, particularly the youngest sister, who was 4 at the time. Kramer said she will keep pressing authorities, and police urge anyone with information to call the homicide office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
