Right · 2Netanyahu said the barrier does not stand alone: forces, an operational plan and plans to counter drones are in place, though he declined to elaborate. Right · 1The Jerusalem Post noted the visit came less than two weeks before the 2026 Knesset elections, the first since before 7 October 2023, and that Netanyahu has faced questions over the surprise of that day and over a planned ministerial inquiry proposed in November 2025 that has yet to be realised. Right · 1Netanyahu announced a security meeting for Thursday evening with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, Shin Bet director David Zini and Mossad head Roman Gofman, and told KAN on Wednesday that Likud would keep the Defense Minister portfolio in a future government.
