The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Quay Street Productions announced on Instagram that filming has finished on Netflix's Harlan Coben's The Woods. Centre · 1The post read "THAT'S A WRAP on Harlan Coben's The Woods" and thanked the cast and crew. It included three photos of the cast and crew, and Digital Spy reports it teased that behind-the-scenes footage and first-looks are to come. Centre · 2The series is based on Coben's 2007 novel of the same name, which was previously adapted for Netflix in Polish.

Centre · 1Tom Bateman plays Paul 'Cope' Copeland, a barrister haunted by the disappearance of his sister Camille 20 years earlier. Fresh hope arises when the body of a man supposedly murdered alongside her is found. Centre · 1Michelle Keegan plays Lucy Silverfield. The cast also includes Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, Rade Sherbedgia, James Buckley, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Tom Allen. Centre · 2Danny Brocklehurst co-writes the series. He has worked on several Coben adaptations and previously worked with Keegan on Fool Me Once, Ten Pound Poms and Brassic.

Centre · 2Coben has called the story "haunting and very personal", saying it has the twists expected of his work but at its core is "a story of old love and yearning". Keegan said her character Lucy deals with deep, personal secrets, letting her explore vulnerability. Centre · 1Collider says The Woods will debut in 2027 and will not take the 1 January slot that recent Coben adaptations have held. That slot has gone to Jamie Dornan's The Twin. Netflix has not given an exact release date in the coverage. Centre · 1Collider also links the news to Netflix's separate Myron Bolitar series, whose first-look images were posted by KJ Apa and Colin Woodell.
