The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Netflix has greenlit a pilot for a series based on Louise Rennison's novel Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging, the first book in her Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series. Centre · 2The books were previously adapted as the 2008 film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, in which Aaron Taylor-Johnson played the love interest opposite Georgia Groome and Eleanor Tomlinson; both outlets describe it as a cult classic. Centre · 2Monica Heisey, whose credits include Schitt's Creek, is writing the pilot, and Jim O'Hanlon is directing.

Centre · 1Collider adds that Jon Jennings is producing and Sam Leifer is executive producing. Centre · 1Screen Rant says the pilot order followed reports about casting calls: UK casting director Rachel Sheridan sought new talent, applicants had to be over 18 because of mature themes and working hours, and applications closed early after a flood of submissions. Centre · 1Sheridan said the team was "genuinely overwhelmed (in the best way)" and had to close applications earlier than planned.

Centre · 1No release date has been given; Screen Rant says it is unclear when the adaptation will arrive. Centre · 2The outlets differ on the 2008 film's credits: Collider says Gurinder Chadha directed it, while Screen Rant says Chadha wrote the screenplay.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
