The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Netflix announced on 7 October 2026 that it has renewed The Hunting Wives for a third season, ahead of Season 2's release. Mixed · 2Season 2 is due on Netflix on Thursday, 26 November (Thanksgiving Day in the US). Centre · 3Season 3 will have eight episodes. Its release date and cast changes have not been announced, though Deadline reports casting is already underway and Collider expects a 2027 release without confirmation.

Mixed · 2Creator and showrunner Rebecca Cutter said in a statement: "I’m so stoked to be heading back to Maple Brook, and I promise that once you’ve finished Season 2, you’ll be desperate to see what happens next. Buckle up, because Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted." Mixed · 2The series stars Brittany Snow as Sophie O'Neil and Malin Åkerman as Margo Banks. It is based on May Cobb's novel, and Variety says Season 2 goes beyond the book's events. Mixed · 2The show was developed for Starz and produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment. Netflix acquired the finished first season, which was released in July 2025, after Starz split from Lionsgate.

Mixed · 2Deadline says Season 1 spent five weeks in Netflix's Global Top 10 English-language TV list, reached No. 1 in 10 countries including the US, and has over 35 million views. The Hollywood Reporter says it was the most-viewed streaming series in the US and spent six weeks in Nielsen's streaming originals top 10. Centre · 1Season 1 remains a Netflix acquisition, while from Season 2 the show is a Netflix original. Deadline says the early renewal lets the show return within a year, which it calls an increasingly standard cadence for streamers on shows that don't need elaborate production. Centre · 1Collider places the renewal against Netflix's 2026 cancellations of The Boroughs and Ransom Canyon, calling the show an exception to Netflix's cancellation pattern.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
