The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2The Naruto franchise announced a new anime TV series during a Naruto panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday 10 October 2026. Left · 1Variety reported that author Masashi Kishimoto is also releasing another Naruto manga, titled "Shadow Rising". Centre · 1Screen Rant said the new series is titled Naruto x Ninku, was shown with a new trailer at the "NARUTO: What's Next?" panel, and is confirmed to be in production.

Centre · 1According to Screen Rant, it is a collaboration featuring the work of Kishimoto and Ninku creator Koji Kiriyama, in which Team 7 wanders into a world very different from their own, and it combines the early world of Naruto with characters from the 1993 Ninku manga. Centre · 1Studio Pierrot personnel and the voice actors for Naruto and Sasuke, Junko Takeuchi and Noriaki Sugiyama, were present at the panel, and the trailer came with information on the series' global premiere. Centre · 1Screen Rant placed the announcement in context: the franchise had been quieter apart from the Boruto sequel manga, about three years had passed since the last Boruto: Naruto Next Generations episodes aired, and the NYCC appearance had been teased by the official Naruto channels and VIZ Media nearly two months earlier.

Mixed · 2No release date is given in the coverage reviewed, and Variety's report does not say whether Naruto x Ninku is the new series it refers to or how it relates to "Shadow Rising".

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
