The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2A complete physical release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, bundled with the Mega Dimension DLC on one game card, has been announced for 29 October. Centre · 1Screen Rant said the release was first confirmed by Serebii on Twitter/X and that it will be sold in the US, Europe and Japan through major retailers. Centre · 1According to the official statement quoted by Screen Rant, the card contains Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Mega Dimension DLC. It is also playable on the original Nintendo Switch, but there the content matches the Switch version and leaves out features that use Switch 2 hardware.

Centre · 1Collider reported that the bundle also includes a code for 100 Ultra Balls and that its price has not been revealed. Centre · 1Collider said fan reaction is mixed: some are excited, while others have criticised the news, mainly over the box art for the European and UK release. Centre · 1The game is the second in the Pokémon Legends spin-off series, is set in Lumiose City in the Kalos region, and came out nearly a year ago. The Mega Dimension DLC followed a few months after launch.

Centre · 2Both outlets place the release against the coming tenth generation, Pokémon Winds and Waves. Collider says it is scheduled for 2027 and set in an archipelago region inspired by Southeast Asian countries. Screen Rant describes the video-game side of the franchise as in a lull while fans wait for more details, during the 30th anniversary celebrations. Centre · 1Screen Rant said there is no word on whether the release responds to anti-digital sentiment. It called the release a win for physical-collection fans and the likely best way to buy the game from now on.
