The story, neutrally told

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Wednesday that a crude oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. UKMTO said it had received a delayed report of an incident on Tuesday, and that a verified source said the tanker was hit on its port side. UKMTO did not name the vessel or give details of casualties, damage or where the projectile came from, and said authorities are investigating.

Hindustan Times reported that three vessels, including a crude oil tanker and an LNG tanker, were hit on Tuesday, a wider account than Anadolu Agency's single tanker. No group had claimed responsibility by the time of Anadolu's report. The incident comes amid tension between Iran and the US over navigation through the strait, after a war that began in February and a ceasefire in April.

A June US-Iran memorandum on freedom of navigation stalled over security disagreements, according to Anadolu. Hindustan Times added that Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday they have continued striking small vessels trying to pass through the strait, and that Iran had received the US response to its proposal to end the war. It also cited NBC News, which reported an Iranian anti-ship cruise missile hit a vessel operated by US Marines on 14 September; CENTCOM declined to comment.

Framing
Both outlets lead with the UKMTO warning and place it within US-Iran tension over the strait. Anadolu focuses on the single report and diplomatic background; Hindustan Times widens it to three ships and adds Iranian and US military developments.
Emphasis
Anadolu: unknown origin, no claim of responsibility, negotiation history. Hindustan Times: three ships, the Revolutionary Guards statement, the NBC report on US Marines.
Leaves out or plays down
Anadolu does not mention a second or third vessel. Hindustan Times gives little detail on the tanker's port-side hit or that UKMTO's report was delayed.
