Mixed · 2The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Monday 5 October 2026 that about 82% of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged since October 2023. Centre · 1According to Anadolu, the agency gave the figure in a statement marking World Habitat Day, putting the number of damaged buildings at around 201,290, based on figures through 16 June 2026. Mixed · 2Of these buildings, 134,422 were completely destroyed and 13,848 sustained severe damage; Anadolu adds that around 328,627 housing units were damaged. Mixed · 2The PCBS also said about 90% of Gaza's water and wastewater infrastructure was damaged or destroyed, and that around 70% of households receive only about 6 litres of water per person per day. Arab News contrasts this with the 15 litres advised by the World Health Organization. Centre · 1Anadolu also reports that 82% of Gaza households face water insecurity, and that Israel continues to restrict entry of food, medicine, shelter materials and prefabricated homes, according to the agency. Arab News says over 70,000 people have been killed.

Right · 1Arab News gives context on the war's start, saying it followed Hamas' cross-border attacks on 7 October 2023, and says 90% of Gaza's 2.1 million residents have been displaced. It also cites a Google Maps update last week showing rubble across southern Gaza, and says the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for several Israeli leaders on war crimes charges. Centre · 1Anadolu additionally reports PCBS figures on the occupied West Bank, citing the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission: about 341 demolition operations in the first half of 2026, 740 Palestinian structures demolished and 254 demolition notices issued for lacking permits.
