The story, neutrally told

Perez Hilton remains in residential treatment after an August suicide attempt and has seen their mother and three children in short, supervised visits at the facility. A status update on Hilton's website, credited to their team and family, said contact began with video calls and moved on to a few short supervised visits. The update called the in-person time "incredibly meaningful and healing" and said it brought "a lot of emotions for everyone".

It said communication with Hilton is still limited, that they are working with their care team on what led to the crisis, and that there is no timeline for leaving treatment. On Aug. 4, Hilton livestreamed a self-harm and suicide attempt on TikTok Live from their Miami-area home; the Hollywood Reporter says the children were home at the start and Hilton's sister removed them and called authorities. The Daily Mail adds that the stream ran about 15 minutes before TikTok stopped it, and that the platform has since banned Hilton's account.

Days later, Hilton's mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filed for temporary custody of the children, aged 13, 11 and 8. The update thanked friend Tom D'Angora for a GoFundMe that helps Hilton's mother care for the children. The Daily Mail, citing TMZ and court documents, reports that visits must be supervised by an approved family member or a therapist and need psychiatric clearance; it said it had asked Hilton's representatives for comment.
