Framing
Both outlets lead with the near-miss and rely heavily on Irish Rail's statement; the Irish Times adds the Garda witness appeal and the victim's age profile, while the Mirror leads on the potentially fatal outcome and relays Dublin Live.
Emphasis
The danger of an express train and the 'appalling attack' quote; the appeal for witnesses and footage.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither reports arrests, the victim's condition beyond injury, or a Garda statement; the Mirror does not mention the Garda appeal details.
Charged language
“appalling attack”“potentially fatal”
For example
“A possibly “fatal” incident was narrowly avoided on Sunday night” — Daily Mirror
“Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a young man was forced into a bin” — The Irish Times
