Kremlin says Putin spent his birthday with ex-German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder

The Kremlin said Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday on 7 October with former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, whom it called an "old friend". Schröder was in Moscow and had met staff of the Globus hypermarket chain.
