The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Roku has greenlit Scarlett Holmes, a Roku Original limited series starring Lucy Hale, who will also executive produce. Mixed · 2The series is due to premiere on The Roku Channel in 2027. Left · 2Hale plays Scarlett Holmes, a modern descendant of Sherlock Holmes who has inherited the family's powers of observation but uses them on mysteries of love, dating and relationships rather than crimes.

Mixed · 2In each episode she and her sidekick Jane Watson help clients with mixed signals, secret crushes and romantic dilemmas, and each storyline draws inspiration from a well-known romantic comedy. Centre · 1Her own love life is harder to solve: she falls for Ollie Moriarity, a podcast producer secretly planning an exposé on her methods. Deadline says the roles of Jane Watson and Ollie Moriarity are still to be cast. Mixed · 2The series is produced by Jaggi Entertainment, with Sophie Tilson and Steve Jaggi as executive producers alongside Hale. It is written by Paris Herbert-Taylor and Katie Wilbert, overseen for Roku by Morgan Pichinson and Sabrina Lyall, and Jaggi handles international sales.

Mixed · 2Hale said she is "a true diehard fan of romantic comedies" and called the show "charming, sexy, funny, and has a lot of heart." Brian Tannenbaum, head of Roku Originals, said she has "the wit, warmth and comedic instincts" for the role and called the series "smart, sophisticated". Mixed · 2Hale is known for Pretty Little Liars, in which she played Aria. Deadline adds she recently wrapped the thriller Legacy and the romantic comedy Princess, and is executive producing the mystery drama Dead Letters, in development at Netflix.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
