The story, neutrally told

Left · 2Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 613 drones flew toward the Moscow region from the evening of 28 October to the morning of 29 October. Left · 2According to Sobyanin, air defence forces destroyed 231 of the drones on approach to Moscow, and the rest were neutralised at distant approaches. Centre · 1Russia's Defence Ministry said separately that air defence forces destroyed 1,214 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over 20 Russian regions overnight, so the 613 aimed at the Moscow region were just over half of the total, according to Anadolu Agency.

Left · 1Al Jazeera, citing Russian state news agency TASS, described it as a major attack on the capital and the latest in a series of large drone assaults on the Moscow region, following a September attack in which Russian air defence reported shooting down more than 1,600 drones. Mixed · 2Anadolu reported that the 1,214 figure exceeded the previous largest attack Russia had reported, 1,110 drones on 20 September, whereas Al Jazeera said a September attack saw more than 1,600 drones shot down; the two outlets' figures for the earlier record differ. Left · 1Meduza reported that no information had been released about the attack's aftermath or any casualties.

Left · 1Rosaviatsia imposed flight restrictions at three Moscow airports (Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky) around 5 a.m. Moscow time, and lifted them two hours later; TASS, citing a source, said two planes flying from Turkey to Moscow turned back because of the restrictions at Vnukovo. Centre · 1Anadolu, citing the TASS report, added that restrictions were also imposed at airports in 18 other Russian cities, and described the Moscow restrictions as meant "to ensure flight safety". Left · 1Meduza also reported that Ukrainian monitoring channels said Sterlitamak was attacked overnight; the independent Telegram channel Astra said images showed smoke over the Bashkir Soda Company, which it said had also been attacked in August.

Left · 1Sterlitamak's administration head, Emil Shaimardanov, said air defence shot down eight drones, debris fell on the grounds of one enterprise, "minor damage was caused" and the plant "is operating normally". Left · 1Separately, Al Jazeera reported that Russia attacked Ukraine's Kharkiv, damaging an educational institution, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Centre · 1Anadolu noted that Ukraine had not yet commented on the Russian claims, which could not be independently verified.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.

Framing
Both outlets lead with Sobyanin's figure of 613 drones. Al Jazeera frames it as the latest in a series of major attacks on Moscow and pairs it with Russian strikes on Kharkiv; Meduza focuses on airport disruption and a separate attack on Sterlitamak.
Emphasis
Al Jazeera: scale and history of attacks. Meduza: flight restrictions, absence of casualty information, local damage and independent verification of Sterlitamak footage.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither mentions the Defence Ministry's nationwide figure of 1,214 drones. Al Jazeera does not mention airport restrictions or Sterlitamak; Meduza does not mention the September record attack or Kharkiv.
For example
“The attack marks the latest in a series of major drone assaults targeting the Moscow region” — Al Jazeera

Framing
Anadolu Agency leads with the Defence Ministry's nationwide figure of 1,214 drones over 20 regions, putting the Moscow figure of 613 in that wider context and attributing the claims to Russian officials.
Emphasis

Leaves out or plays down
Does not mention the Sterlitamak strike, Kharkiv, or the absence of casualty information.
For example
“Ukraine has yet to release a statement regarding the claims, which could not be independently verified due to the ongoing conflict.” — Anadolu Agency
