The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Russian strikes killed at least seven people in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region on Saturday 10 October, according to the regional governor; a later official figure was eight. Left · 1Mykhailo Semikin, head of the regional military administration, said three of the dead were children and that Russian aerial bombs hit residential buildings; at least 10 people were wounded. Mixed · 2Later reports, carried by AFP, said Ivan Fedorov, co-chair of the Defence Council of the Zaporizhzhia region, put the toll at eight, including three children, with at least 16 wounded and 12 missing.

Mixed · 2Ukrainian national police said Russia hit two residential buildings in the city with five guided aerial bombs early on Saturday, and Semikin said people might still be trapped under rubble as rescuers searched. Left · 1The Independent reported that the attacks came a day after US President Donald Trump announced a deal to buy Russian diesel, which Kyiv warned would help fund Moscow's war. Left · 1Trump said he agreed the deal with Vladimir Putin in a phone call, with Russia to supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel immediately, 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons immediately after that, plus a further 3 million tons within a short period.

Left · 1Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the deal "plays into Russia's hands", would let it kill more and fight longer, and called it "a weak decision by strong partners"; he also said Ukraine's negotiating team was being used as a smokescreen while US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Ukrainian officials in Miami. Left · 1The Independent described the war as a long-range aerial contest with front-line armies largely deadlocked, and said escalating Russian bombardments have killed more than 55 people over the past four days, more than 4½ years after the full-scale invasion. Left · 1The Independent noted the deal contrasts with a sweeping Russia sanctions law Trump signed last month aimed at curbing oil and gas revenues.

Centre · 1Anadolu reported that Ukraine's Air Force accused Russia of launching 160 drones overnight, 117 of them shot down or suppressed, while Russia's Defence Ministry said it downed 560 Ukrainian drones; a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Rostov region injured six people, according to Governor Yury Slyusar. Anadolu noted independent verification is difficult. Mixed · 2AFP and France 24 placed the strikes a day after Ukrainian and European officials met in Miami in a renewed US-mediated push to end the war, which has so far yielded no results.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
