The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2The Sharjah FDI Office, also known as Invest in Sharjah, launched Najm, an AI agent for investors, at the Sharjah Investment Forum on Wednesday 14 October 2026. Centre · 1Gulf News describes Najm as an agentic AI tool that works as a first point of contact: an investor enters basic details about their planned business and the agent handles industry-related queries and identifies sites that fit their requirements and budget. Centre · 1It replaces a fragmented search across several property platforms by bringing relevant opportunities together in one place, so the process could start before investors enter Sharjah.

Centre · 1The National reports that the tool aims to help foreign investors identify opportunities within seconds, and that it is first meant to find sites for factories and warehouses across the emirate. Centre · 2In the first phase, Najm draws on listings from the property portals Bayut and Property Finder and from Dubizzle, plus public information from Sharjah entities, sector and regulatory information, and the office's own FDI data. Centre · 1Gulf News reports that Invest in Sharjah signed three memorandums of understanding to support Najm, with the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey, Property Finder, and Bayut and Dubizzle.

Centre · 2The two outlets describe the second phase differently. Gulf News says it will bring options for direct partnerships with Sharjah entities and more live, verified opportunities, while The National quotes the chief executive as saying it will widen coverage to sectors including healthcare and education. Centre · 1Chief executive Mohamed Al Mushrrakh (spelled Al Musharrkh by Gulf News) said investors could struggle to find the information they need, and called Najm "the answer to that question" and "just the beginning". Centre · 1The National places the launch in the context of a push for foreign direct investment despite geopolitical uncertainty. It cites Invest in Sharjah data showing Dh7.74 billion in FDI last year, up 8.8 per cent, projects receiving FDI up 45 per cent to 142, and more than 16,000 real estate transactions in the first half of 2026.

Centre · 1The two-day forum, themed "Building Adaptive Economies", was attended by Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, with a keynote by UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri on AI's growing role.
