The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Production has officially begun on Young Bond: SilverFin, a full-cast audio adaptation of Charlie Higson's 2005 novel, with Isaac Rouse playing the teenage James Bond. Centre · 1Big Finish released behind-the-scenes footage from the recording sessions, showing Rouse and Charlotte McBurney, who plays Wilder Lawless, at work. Centre · 1In the video, Rouse reveals the Bond theme songs he has been listening to, the producers discuss casting him, and McBurney talks about playing "the original Bond girl".

Centre · 2The supporting cast includes Tim McInnerny as Bond's Uncle Max, Miranda Raison as Aunt Charmian, William Hope as Lord Randolph Hellebore, Paterson Joseph as Dr Perseus Friend, Timothy Bentinck as Sergeant White and Penelope Rawlins as Alfie Kelly. Centre · 2Collider says Lucy Fleming, niece of Bond creator Ian Fleming, plays Madame Ouspenskaya; Radio Times lists the cast member as "Lucy Bond". Centre · 1Radio Times adds that Higson himself plays Mr Merriot, Miriam Margolyes plays Cleek MacSawney, Harry Marcus plays Red Kelly and Christopher Nathan plays George Hellebore.

Centre · 1Writer and director Barnaby Edwards said he worried whether the chemistry in the room would work, but called Rouse "a splendid leading man" who "clicked instantly" with his fellow actors; McBurney joined on the third day of recording because Wilder appears later in the story. Centre · 1SilverFin will run to 16 half-hour episodes, released as two box sets from bigfinish.com and ianflemingshop.com, priced at £24.99 for download or £35.99 for download plus collector's edition CD. Centre · 2Collider gives the release date as 29 October 2026; Radio Times says only that it will come out in October.

Centre · 1Higson's novel, the first of his Young Bond series, is set in the 1930s and follows Bond at Eton College before he is sent to Scotland, where he is drawn into the mystery around Lord Hellebore and experiments at his remote estate. Centre · 1Collider places the project against the wait for the next film Bond: Denis Villeneuve is preparing to direct, but there is no official announcement of Daniel Craig's successor.

Framing
Both centre outlets treat it as an entertainment news item on the start of recording. Collider ties it to the wait for the next Bond film; Radio Times, in an audio section, focuses on the first-look image, video and ordering details.
Emphasis
Collider: cast links to Bond history and the film Bond's absence. Radio Times: director's comments, episode count, pricing and extra cast.
Leaves out or plays down
Collider omits the episode format, pricing and director quotes; Radio Times omits the novel's plot, exact release date and the film Bond context.
