The story, neutrally told

Centre · 2Skybound Entertainment announced a new comics line, Skybound Visions, at New York Comic Con. Centre · 1Skybound SVP Sean Mackiewicz described the line as one that "pairs beloved comic book characters with the most interesting comic book creators working today, to present their personal takes on these fan-favorites." Centre · 1The first title, Transformers: Bumblebee - Lost Planet, is by writer Tate Brombal, artist Matt Emmons, colorist Giovanna Niro and letterer Becca Carey; it strands Bumblebee on an alien world where evolution has run wild, and goes on sale January 27, 2027.

Centre · 1G.I. Joe: The Island of Dr. Mindbender follows on February 2, 2027, a horror-tinged story by writer Karl Kerschl, penciler Doug Mahnke, inker Jaime Mendoza, colorist David Baron and letterer Tom Napolitano, in which retired Joe tactician Flint leads rookies into Mindbender's lab to rescue a missing squad. Centre · 2Turok: Son of Stone, by author Stephen Graham Jones and artist Leandro Fernández with colorist Lee Loughridge, reimagines Turok as an archaeologist whose New Mexico dig drops him into a lost world of dinosaurs and Ice Age creatures as he tries to return to his son; it goes on sale March 10, 2027. Centre · 2Turok is not a Hasbro property but a character licensed from Gold Key; first published by Dell in 1954, he was revived by Valiant in the early 1990s and became a video game franchise starting with Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on the Nintendo 64 in 1997.

Centre · 1Jones is a member of the Blackfeet Nation and author of The Only Good Indians; Screen Rant noted that Skybound did not say whether Turok's Gold Key stablemates Magnus and Doctor Solar would join the Visions line. Centre · 2The line follows Skybound's Energon Universe books, which both outlets credit with reviving Transformers, G.I. Joe and other Hasbro properties.
